OK. So you are reading this because you obviously want to learn how to coupon right! Let me guess, you saw some ones big haul and said now I gotta get a piece of that lol! Well you have come to the right place. From the average couponer to the extreme, I hope to have something that will help everyone.
How do I start? Well first things first, you’ll need coupons. You can find coupons from many different sources! I listed a few below to get you started.
Red Plum (website) – There is not that many pintables, but some. You can check to see if your area receives red plum inserts in your Sunday papers and if not you can have them add you to their mailing list. IT’S FREE.
Sunday Paper – Check to make sure you have all the inserts that you are supposed to have in your papers before you buy them (sometimes they are missing). I have to by 2 different papers because one will have half the inserts and the other one will have the other half! That’s why in my case ordering inserts is the cheaper route. You can also get a better deal if you get a subscription.
Dumpster/recycle bin – Do this at your own risk! Please check all state laws, before doing so. And stay out of trash cans for god sake, that’s nasty! Lol
The coupon clippers (website) – They sale individual coupons for items. So let’s say you know Ragu is going on sale next week and it’s a really good deal, but you have no coupons for it!! You can go to this site or other sites like it and use their services to get singles of just that coupon for a cheap amount! Very handy!
EBay – Need I say more lol! You can get full inserts and most people have them in groups of 5’s or 10’s. They also have single coupons. Just make sure that you check the persons rating.
Coupons.com (website) – Lots of coupons!
Target.com (website) – They have mainly Target coupons, but they do have some manufacture coupons too.
Smart Source (website) – Lot’s more coupons!
CUT CLIP SAVE! – I will post inserts that I have available as I get them.
So now that I have given you a few places to look, lets talk about papers. How many should you buy? This all depends on your goals. If you have a small family then you may only want to buy 1-2 papers, but if you want to build a nice stockpile then you can count on 4-5 papers a week. Some people will order just the inserts, as they are often cheaper than buying 5 papers. You can also ask family members and friends to save them for you. We have a friend that gets them from a resort that she works at. They take out the ads because these people are rich and famous and don’t want the coupons lol! (Seriously! Think Tyler Perry!) She doesn’t want to coupon right now because she thinks it too hard, so in exchange for the coupons we take her a nice box of goodies to say thank you!
